The District Advisory Committee
The District Advisory Committee was formed to meet Iowa Code 281-IAC 12.8(1)(a)(2)'s requirement for a School Improvement Advisory Committee, which has responsibility for analyzing needs assessment data to make recommendations to the board regarding major educational needs, student learning goals, long-term goals, and harassment or bullying prevention goals, programs, training, and other initiatives.
Membership includes students, parents, teachers, administrators, and representatives from the local community. To the extent possible, committee membership is to have balanced representation of the
following: race, gender, national origin and disability.
At least annually, the District Advisory Committee makes recommendations to the board with regard to progress achieved with annual improvement goals for the state indicators that address reading, mathematics, and science, progress achieved with other locally determined indicators.
