College Visit Protocol
Students interested in visiting a college may take 6 college visits during their high school career. Students may take college visits beginning the first semester of their sophomore year. No more than 2 college visits may be taken per semester. If a student needs to take more than 2 college visits in a semester, this must be approved by that student’s guidance counselor. All college visits must be completed before Dec. 1 and May 1.

Students must contact the college they wish to visit in advance to establish the date, time, and content of the college visit. The student’s guardian contacts the Attendance office (967-6450) to excuse the student from missing school due to attending a college visit. The student is responsible for having an admissions representative from the college sign a yellow College Visit notecard. (The yellow College Visit notecard can be found in the guidance office.) This signed yellow College Visit notecard is then returned to the student’s guidance counselor after attending the college visit. The guidance counselor signs the College Visit notecard and then returns it to the Attendance office to verify that it was a RAM Plan excused college visit.
