Junior High Event Expectations
General
  1. Students may not stay after school without direct supervision of an adult Southeast Polk staff member.
  2. Student spectators wishing to attend an after school event that starts later than 3:00 must leave Southeast Polk property and return at the start of the event (this includes all junior high athletic events that usually start at 4:30).
  3. All school rules are enforced at all school events. This includes inappropriate language, possession of illegal substances and fighting.
  4. Restroom trips and concession trips should be limited to appropriate breaks in the activity.
  5. Treat the vending machines with care.
  6. Put trash in wastebaskets.
  7. Demonstrate positive sportsmanship.
  8. Be courteous to opposing team members and fans.
  9. Students are reminded that the activity bus is a privilege. All bus expectations apply.
  10. Students must leave Southeast Polk property in a timely manner at the end of an event. Please make travel arrangements in advance.

 National Anthem etiquette

  1. Stand at attention and face the flag
  2. Remove hat
  3. Stop talking

Football Games

  1. Sit in the designated Junior High bleacher section at the south end of the stadium.
  2. Students are not allowed on the practice fields to the east or west of the stadium.
  3. Students are not allowed on the sidelines, playing field or track.
  4. Keep hands, feet, and comments to yourself.
  5. Do not throw items.
  6. All school rules are enforced at all school events. This includes inappropriate language, possession of illegal substances and fighting.

Hallway & Locker Expectations

  1. Walk.
  2. Always walk on the right side of the hallway.
  3. Keep moving (do not block the hallways or doorways by socializing in large groups).
  4. Keep hands, feet, objects, and negative comments to yourself.
  5. Use a quiet voice.
  6. Be aware of your voice level when exiting the cafeteria after lunch � don�t forget that other teams are in class.
  7. Keep the hallways and lockers clean.
  8. Keep your locker closed and locked.
  9. Close locker quietly�do not slam the locker shut.
  10. Be in your designated classroom on time.
  11. A signed planner is required to be in the halls during class time.

Before School Expectations

  1. Students must remain in the entry ways or designated areas until the first bell rings at 7:35 a.m.
  2. RAP Chorus students may go directly to the chorus room.
  3. Students who are eating breakfast can go directly to the lunchroom.

Lunch Line Expectations

  1. Walk
  2. Hot lunch�LEFT;ala carte-RIGHT
  3. Use a quiet voice.
  4. Keep hands, feet, and negative comments to yourself.
  5. Do not cut in line.
  6. Stand in single file in the lunch line.
  7. You must show your student ID to the lunchroom supervisor when entering the serving area.� If you do not have your student ID, you must wait at the end of the line until all students with IDs have gone through the line.
  8. Student ID required to buy from ala carte.
  9. No charging of ala carte items � you must have money in your account to buy from ala carte.

Cafeteria Expectations

  1. Walk
  2. "Where you sit, that's it" Once you choose a place to sit you must sit there for the remainder of the lunch period.
  3. Only six students on each side of the table.
  4. Don't save place for other students.
  5. Keep your legs under the lunch table.
  6. Always use a quiet voice.
  7. "Lights Off" signals quiet attention.
  8. Ask for permission before leaving the cafeteria.
  9. Keep hands, feet, and negative comments to yourself.
  10. Do not throw items � no matter how small, no matter how far.
  11. "Clean up your space, put your tray in its place." Return your tray as soon as you are done eating, dispose of your own trash, clean up your area.

Restroom Expectations

  1. Restroom stops should be made during break times.
  2. You must have a pass to use the restroom during class time.
  3. Remember to flush the toilet.
  4. Wash your hands.
  5. Keep the restroom area clean.
  6. Quickly return to class when finished.

Student Center & Outdoor Expectations

  1. Keep hands, feet, and comments to yourself.
  2. Treat the vending machines with care.
  3. Put trash in wastebaskets.
  4. Stay on hard surfaced areas when it is wet.
  5. Remain on the sidewalk until buses have stopped.
  6. Do not throw things.
  7. You are only to be in the student center area when it is supervised.

Assembly Expectations

  1. Wait to be dismissed to the assembly.
  2. Leave personal items in the classroom.
  3. Follow your teacher to the assembly.
  4. Sit with your class/team and teacher/adult.
  5. Keep hands, feet, and negative comments to yourself.
  6. Talk in a quiet voice while waiting for the assembly to begin.
  7. Stop talking when signaled.
  8. Face the speaker.
  9. Interact with the presenter at the assembly appropriately.
  10. Remain seated until dismissed to class.

All School Assemblies: 8th grade on bleachers, 7th grade on the floor.

Dance Expectations

  1. Only SEP JH students may attend.
  2. Keep hands, feet and comments to yourself.
  3. No food or drink allowed in the gym.
  4. Students absent from school are not allowed to attend.
  5. All school rules are enforced at all school events.�This includes inappropriate language, possession of illegal substances, appropriate dress, and fighting.
  6. Students leaving early may not re-enter.
