Runnells Elementary Students Learn About Pets by Kerri Perry Dogs, and cats, and chicks- oh my! The kindergarten classes at Runnells Elementary are reading, writing, and learning about pets. We have read about how to take care of a variety different pets as well as how to choose a pet that is perfect for you. Students have written and illustrated what pet they think is the best.

Several students have also shared their pets with their classmates during a scheduled pet visit. Parents have helped to bring the pet to school and these kindergartners gave an oral report explaining how they take care of their pet. Classmates have been given the opportunity to ask questions to get more information. Our pet theme has been one of our favorite units!
